Thực trạng đời sống và điều kiện sống của lao động nữ nhập cư tại các KCN&CX là mối trăn trở lớn của tổ chức Công đoàn. Đề tài nghiên cứu về thực trạng mức sống của lao động nữ nhập cư tại các KCN&CX hiện nay vừa được Tổng LĐLĐ Việt Nam công bố thực sự đã gióng lên hồi chuông cảnh báo trước nhiệm vụ của tổ chức Công đoàn đối với việc quan tâm, chăm lo, bảo vệ quyền lợi cho lao động nữ nhập cư. Cụ thể, tỷ lệ nữ lao động có thu nhập trên 5 triệu đồng/tháng chỉ chiếm 2%, số còn lại có mức thu nhập trung bình 3 triệu đồng/người/tháng. Theo cơ quan chức năng, mức thu nhập như vậy chỉ đáp ứng được trên 60% nhu cầu cuộc sống tối thiểu. Mức thu nhập này của nữ lao động nhập cư đã "giẫm chân tại chỗ" nhiều năm qua.
