• Dùng pipette lấy 5ml mẫu dung dịch cho vào bình tam giác 100ml, nhỏ thêm vào 4  5 giọt chất chỉ thị PP. rồi chuẩn độ với dd A5 (0.1N H2SO4) cho đến khi mẫu chuyển từ màu hồng sang không màu. Số ml dd A5 đã dùng chính là số điểm của độ kiềm tự do (F.Al). Thường thì F.Al = 35  40 điểm.
• Trong quá trình sản xuất, độ kiềm tự do F.Al sẽ giảm. Để tăng F.Al lên 1 điểm phải dùng khoảng 1.5 kg LPCLEANER P28T cho 1000L dung dịch.
