Ngày 14 tháng 12 năm 2006, Công ty TNHH Điện tử Meiko Việt Nam chính thức được trao giấy chứng nhận đầu tư vào Khu Công nghiệp Thạch Thất – Quốc Oai, huyện Thạch Thất, Hà Nội. Lĩnh vực hoạt động chính gồm: Thiết kế, sản xuất và chế tạo các loại bảng mạch in điện tử (PCB); lắp ráp các linh kiện lên PCB, lắp ráp các sản phẩm điện tửhoàn chỉnh (EMS).

Dự án đầu tư của Meiko là một trong 10 dự án đầu tư trực tiếp nước ngoài (FDI) lớn nhất năm 2006 và là dự án sản xuất điện tử lớn nhất từ trước đến nay của các nhà đầu tư nước ngoài đầu tư vào Việt Nam và cũng là dự án đầu tư nước ngoài lớn nhất mà Hà Tây (cũ) tiếp nhận.
