Trong khoảng 5 năm trở lại đây thị trường chăn nuôi bò thịt, bò sữa có sự tham gia mạnh mẽ của doanh nghiệp hàng đầu Việt Nam. Có thể kể đến những cái tên đáng chú ý như Tập đoàn Hoàng Anh Gia Lai, Tập đoàn TH true MILK, Nova Group...

Sau khi tuyên bố chuyển hướng đầu tư chăn nuôi bò, Tập đoàn Hoàng Anh Gia Lai ra mắt công ty con: Công ty cổ phần Nông nghiệp quốc tế Hoàng Anh Gia Lai (HAGL Agrico). Năm 2015, HAGL Agrico thí điểm nuôi 10.700 con bò sữa. HAGL Agrico dự định, bò sữa sẽ đóng góp khoảng 7% lợi nhuận năm 2015 và 13% trong năm 2016.

Nhưng trước đó, từ giữa năm 2014, ông chủ Hoàng Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) Đoàn Nguyên Đức đã bắt tay với NutiFood thực hiện dự án nuôi bò sữa. hagl sẽ nuôi 120.000 con bò sữa để cung ứng nguyên liệu, đảm bảo cho công suất hoạt động nhà máy chế biến 500 triệu lít của NutiFood đặt tại Gia Lai.
