Tôi bắt đầu hành trình đi Bạc Liêu vào tối thứ Sáu, sau khi kết thúc công việc của một tuần. Thật tình cờ, trên chuyến xe đêm, những câu hát da diết “Nghe tiếng đàn ai rao sáu câu như sống lại hồn Cao Văn Lầu. Ngoài ra, tôi cũng biết rất nhiều các di tích lịch sử như: Đền thờ Bác, Đồng Nọc Nạn, Tháp Cổ Vĩnh Hưng… Ngày hôm sau, tôi cùng gia đình đến thành phố Bạc Liêu có một con đường rất độc đáo mà du khách du lịch thường đến. Con đường mang tên người đã sinh ra bản Dạ Cổ hoài lang - tiền thân của những bài bản vọng cổ sau này - đó là nhạc sĩ Cao Văn Lầu.
