Tự học là hoạt động học tập diễn ra mà không có sự tham gia trực tiếp của người dạy. Chính chúng ta sẽ phải tự mình “giải mã” tri thức. Trong quá trình đó, chúng ta sẽ vận dụng các thao tác liên tưởng, so sánh, tưởng tượng, thậm chí phải mượn những kiến thức cũ để hiểu được kiến thức mới. Điều đó sẽ giúp trí não chúng ta hoạt động linh hoạt, nâng cao nhận thức.
