Trong 4 ngày từ 13 đến 16-9, tại thành phố Cần Thơ đã diễn ra Hội nghị hợp tác giữa các địa phương Việt Nam - Pháp lần thứ 10 với chủ đề “Hướng tới đối tác kinh tế hiệu quả và bền vững” do UBND thành phố Cần Thơ phối hợp với Cơ quan hợp tác Quốc tế các địa phương Pháp (CUF) tổ chức. Hội nghị đã đón tiếp gần 1200 đại biểu đến tham dự. 
2.1. ( Hội thảo chuyên đề) Với chủ đề “Hướng tới đối tác kinh tế hiệu quả và bền vững” hội nghị đã diễn ra 05 phiên hội thảo chuyên đề. Nhiều vấn đề mang tính thời sự về lĩnh vực kinh tế, du lịch, giáo dục, y tế, môi trường biến đổi khí hậu, phát triển đô thị, văn hóa và di sản…được các đại biểu quan tâm và tập trung trao đổi. Đã có tổng cộng 58 bài phát biểu, tham luận được trình bày; ( Ký kết bien ban hợp tác) 14 cuộc gặp gỡ song phương và 5 biên bản ghi nhớ hợp tác giữa 12 địa phương, tổ chức Việt Nam – Pháp được ký kết. Phát biểu về quan hệ Việt-Pháp, ông Bùi Thanh Sơn – Thứ trưởng Bộ Ngoại giao cho biết:
