2.1. Tình yêu là một phạm trù mang tính phổ quát của hiện thực khách quan, tình yêu dù ở bất kỳ con người nào, dân tộc nào thì tính chất, thuộc tính của nó vẫn không thay đổi. Có điều, đặc thù văn hoá riêng của từng dân tộc chi phối mạnh mẽ đến ngữ nghĩa của mỗi ngôn ngữ, tức là mỗi “mô hình thế giới” [49] ngoài cái chung, cái phổ quát, còn có cái riêng, cái đặc thù, ứng với từng ngôn ngữ và phản ánh một cách tri giác, một cách nhận thức về thế giới của dân tộc ấy. Nhờ thế mọi cung bậc, sắc thái, cảnh ngộ…của tình yêu được biểu tỏ vô cùng tinh tế và hết mực điêu luyện. Cách thể hiện tình yêu nói trên là rất kín đáo, nhuần nhị mà không kém phần sâu sắc, phù hợp với đặc trưng văn hoá ứng xử của người Việt: ưa sự tế nhị, ý tứ.
