● Khi thực hiện nhiệm Vụ Kiểm toán,

● Khi thực hiện nhiệm Vụ Kiểm toán, cơ quan Kiểm toán Nhà nước độc lập, chỉ tuân theo pháp luật; chịu trách nhiệm trước pháp luật về kết luận kiểm toán của mình và có quyền:
- Yêu cầu cơ quan, đơn vị, tổ chức thuộc đối tượng kiểm toán của Kiểm toán Nhà nước gửi báo cáo quyết toán hoặc báo cáo tài chính năm khi thực hiện công tác kiểm toán theo quy định của pháp luật;
- Yêu cầu đơn vị được kiểm toán cung cấp dự toán ngân sách và báo cáo quyết toán ngân sách, báo cáo tài chính, chứng từ, sổ kế toán cùng các tài liệu khác có liên quan; yêu cầu các đơn vị có liên quan cung cấp tài liệu cần thiết phục vụ cho việc kiểm toán;
- Áp dụng các phương pháp chuyên môn nghiệp vụ để thu thập các bằng chứng kiểm toán ở đơn vị được kiểm toán và các đơn vị, cá nhân có liên quan;
- Đề nghị các cơ quan chức năng phối hợp thực hiện nhiệm vụ khi cần thiết; được yêu cầu các cơ quan nhà nước, các đoàn thể quần chúng, các tổ chức xã hội và công dân giúp đỡ, tạo điều kiện thuận lợi để Kiểm toán Nhà nước thực hiện nhiệm vụ;
- Trưng cầu giám định hoặc đề nghị các cơ quan có thẩm quyền tư vấn về mặt chuyên môn ở những lĩnh vực đòi hỏi chuyên môn sâu khi cần thiết;
- Đề nghị các cơ quan nhà nước có thẩm quyền xử lí theo pháp luật đối với tổ chức, cá nhân có hành vi cản trở công tác kiểm toán của Kiểm toán Nhà nước và cung cấp sai sự thật thông tin, tài liệu cho Kiểm toán Nhà nước;
- Khi cần thiết được uỷ thác, thuê kiểm toán viên và doanh nghiệp kiểm toán để thực hiện kiểm toán các đơn vị thuộc đối tượng của Kiểm toán Nhà nước, thẩm định để công nhận kết quả kiểm toán do kiểm toán viên và doanh nghiệp kiểm toán thực hiện;
- Kiểm tra việc thực hiện các kiến nghị của Kiểm toán Nhà nước;
