Hội nhập quốc tế

Với việc rút hoàn toàn quân đội khỏi Campuchia, vấn đề Campuchia được giải quyết, Việt Nam đã phá được bao vây, cấm vận và không ngừng mở rộng quan hệ quốc tế theo hướng đa dạng hoá và đa phương hoá; bình thường hoá và từng bước xác lập khuôn khổ quan hệ ổn định lâu dài với tất cả các nước lớn, các nước công nghiệp phát triển. Cho đến nay Việt Nam có quan hệ ngoại giao với 180 nước, trong đó có tất cả các nước lớn, có quan hệ kinh tế với hơn 220 thị trường nước ngoài và là thành viên của nhiều tổ chúc và diễn đàn quốc tế như:

Cộng đồng Pháp ngữ (1970)
Liên hợp quốc (1977),
Phong trào Không liên kết (1976)
ASEAN (1995).
Diễn đàn hợp tác Á-Âu ASEM (1996)
Diễn đàn hợp tác kinh tế khu vực châu Á- Thái Bình Dương APEC (1998)
Tổ chức thương mại thế giới WTO (2006)

Việt Nam đã giải quyết ổn thoả nhiều tranh chấp về biên giới, lãnh thổ, biển đảo, giữ vững môi trường hoà bình; chủ động hội nhập kinh tế quốc tế và khu vực, tranh thủ nhiều ODA, FDI, mở rộng thị trường ngoài nước; tăng cường ngoại giao đa phương. Các sự kiện lớn của ngoại giao Việt Nam trong những năm gần đây là: Việt Nam đã tổ chức thành công Hội nghị cấp cao VII tổ chức Pháp ngữ (1997), Hội nghị cấp cao ASEAN VII (1998), Hội nghị cấp cao Diễn đàn Hợp tác Á-ÂU V (2004), Hội nghị thượng đỉnh APEC 14 (2006). Hoa Kỳ dành cho Việt Nam quy chế thương mại bình thường vĩnh viễn (11/2006). Vào ngày 16 tháng 10 năm 2007 Việt Nam đã được bầu làm một trong các thành viên không thường trực của Hội đồng Bảo an Liên Hiệp Quốc cho nhiệm kỳ 2008-2009.[6]

Năm 2010 Việt Nam đã đạt được nhiều thành tựu đối ngoại nổi bật: Việt Nam đảm nhận thành công vai trò Chủ tịch ASEAN: Với chủ đề Hướng tới Cộng đồng ASEAN: Từ tầm nhìn tới hành động, Chủ trì thành công Diễn đàn Kinh tế thế giới (WEF) Đông Á, tổ chức thành công Hội thảo quốc tế Việt Nam – châu Phi lần thứ hai. Năm 2012, Việt Nam tổ chức thành công Diễn đàn Việt Nam – Mỹ Latin về Thương mại và Đầu tư.

Việt Nam thiết lập quan hệ đối tác chiến lược với các cường quốc khu vực và thế giới. Đến tháng 6/2013, các nước có quan hệ loại này với Việt Nam gồm có 3 thành viên thường trực Liên Hiệp Quốc: Nga (2001), Anh (2010), Trung Quốc (2008) và Pháp(2013)[7]; hai cường quốc Bắc Á là Hàn Quốc (2009) và Nhật Bản (2009); một cường quốc Nam Á là Ấn Độ (2007); ba nước ở Đông Nam Á là Thái Lan, Indonesia và Singapore (2013); tại Châu Âu, hai đối tác chiến lược của Việt Nam là Đức (2011), Tây Ban Nha (2009), Italia (1-2013). Trong số này, một số mối quan hệ như với Trung Quốc (2008) và Nga (7-2012) đã được nâng lên tầm "đối tác chiến lược toàn diện". Ngoài ra, từ năm 2009, Việt Nam cũng đã thiết lập quan hệ "đối tác toàn diện" với Australia[8][9] và Hoa Kỳ (2013).[10]

In June 2013, the country has this kind of relations with Vietnam including three permanent members of the United Nations: Russia (2001), (2010), China (2008), and France (2013) [7]; the two North Asian powers as Korea (2009) and Japan (2009); a South Asian powers, India (2007); the three countries in Southeast Asia are Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore (2013); in Europe, two of Vietnam's strategic partner is Germany (2011), Spain (2009), Italy (1-2013). Of these, some like relationships with China (2008), and Russia (7-2012) has been added to "comprehensive strategic partnership". In addition, from 2009, Vietnam has also established a "comprehensive partnership" with Australia [8] [9] and the United States (2013). [10]
