The results of the EDS line scan analysis on the cross section of the SC and SU coatings (Figure 6) show that elements Cr, Ni, C, F, O and Fe are both present in the SC and SU/stainless steel 304 coatings. PTFE with molecular formula (C2F4) n. The presence of elemental F in two coatings demonstrates that PTFE penetrates inside the mantle. Elemental F in the SC coating appears to roughly 70 μm coating thickness. Meanwhile, in the SU coating, elemental F appears to be about 150 μm. On the other hand, the elemental strength F in the SC coatings is much lower than the F-intensity in the SU coating. This shows, the ultrasonic vibration method helps the PTFE solution penetrate into the deeper coating and more than the static immersion method. This results in perfectly matching the porosity measurements of the upper mantle. The mechanism of osmosis of PTFE solution inside the coating is presented in Figure 13 [19].
