Đặc biệt, tại Bắc bộ, nếu phía đông Bắc Bộ và Bắc Trung Bộ, số ngày mưa nhỏ, mưa phùn xảy ra nhiều và một số nơi trong tháng 1 và tháng 2/2012 trời âm u, hầu như không quan trắc được số giờ nắng. Trong khi đó, tại miền Trung, mưa lớn xảy ra vào tháng 11/2011 gây lũ, lụt ở các tỉnh Trung và Nam Trung Bộ gây thiệt hại lớn về người và tài sản. Còn tại Tây Nguyên và Nam Bộ, lượng mưa phổ biến ở mức cao hơn so với TBNN cùng thời kỳ; trong thời kỳ mùa khô ở Tây Nguyên và Nam Bộ đã xảy ra nhiều đợt mưa trái mùa.
Do đó, có thể thấy vào mùa mưa, bão, lũ năm 2012, tình hình thời tiết, thủy văn trên phạm vi cả nước sẽ còn diễn biến phức tạp.
