10 principal components showed that pure and adulterated samples were successfully classified into its group. Discriminant analysis was also applied to distinguish between VCO and other vegetable oils such as walnut, extra virgin olive, soybean, sunflower, grapeseed, sesame, corn and canola oil (Fig. 2). The result showed that VCO samples fall into one group, separated from other vegetable oils. This indicated that FTIR FOURIER TRANSFORM spectroscopy is an efficient and accurate method to detect adulteration in VCO.
