Những ngân hàng thương mại cổ phần.
Hiện nay ngân hàng nhà nước việt nam đã cấp giấy phép hoạt động cho trên 20 ngân hàng thương mại cổ phần và 62 hợp tác xã tín dụng ở nông thôn.
Các ngân hàng thương mại cổ phần đã huy động một số vốn to lớn từ xã hội để cho vay nhằm phát triển sản xuất. Một số ngân hàng thương mại cổ phần đang hoạt động trong một vài lĩnh vực như ngân hàng thương mại cổ phần hàng hải, ngân hàng xuất nhập khẩu, ngân hàng cổ phần nông nghiệp v.v..
Cho đến nay, những ngân hàng này đã đạt được nhiều thành tựu đáng kể, góp phần hàng ngày vào sự phát triển của đất nước.
