- Bước 1 : Lấy mẫu
• Xăm lấy mẫu ngẫu nhiên ở một số bao
• Trộn đều mẫu, chia bốn lấy 2/4. Chia 3 lần như vậy sau đó lấy 1kg mẫu
- Bước 2 : Cắt mẫu
- Bước 3 : Kiểm tra chất lượng mẫu
• Phải kiểm tra cả mặt ngoài và mặt trong của nhân điều
• Nhân điều có màu trắng, màu vàng nhạt được tính vào định mức thu hồi.
• Nhân điều có màu vàng, màu nám mờ chiếm diện tích nhỏ hơn hoặc bằng 30% diện tích nhân điều thì được tính vào định mức thu hồi 100%, nếu lớn hơn 30% diện tích nhân điều thì tính 50% định mức thu hồi.
• Nhân điều có một đốm vàng, một đốm nám, một chấm đen (nhưng không quá 3mm) thì được tính 50% định mức thu hồi.
• Nhân điều bị non, teo bề mặt nhân thì được tính là 50% định mức thu hồi.

 Các loại nhân không được tính vào định mức thu hồi như sau:
- Nhân điều bị nhiễm dầu hoặc có màu vàng đậm do bị thẩm thấu nước lâu ngày thì không được tính vào định mức thu hồi.
- Nhân điều có màu vàng đen, vàng nám đậm, màu nâu đen, màu đen, nhân điều teo lép bị trống ở giữa lớn hơn 50% thì không được tính vào định mức thu hồi
- Nhân điều bị mốc thì không được tính vào định mức thu hồi.
