Ngữ văn Anh là ngành học về ngôn ngữ, văn hóa và văn học của Anh và Mỹ. Sinh viên ngành Ngữ văn Anh trong 3 năm đầu tiên ngoài việc được trang bị kỹ năng ngôn ngữ (nghe-nói-đọc-viết) ở trình độ cao cấp của ngành tiếng Anh thông thường mà còn được cung cấp thêm kiến thức cơ bản về Ngôn ngữ học Anh, Văn học, Văn hóa Anh-Mỹ, kỹ năng biên phiên dịch, phương pháp giảng dạy ngoại ngữ. Khối kiến thức liên ngành này giúp sinh viên vào cuối năm 3 chọn 1 trong số 3 chuyên ngành sâu phù hợp với khả năng và nguyện vọng là: (1) Ngữ học-Giảng dạy tiếng Anh, (2) Văn hóa-Văn học Anh-Mỹ và (3) Biên-Phiên dịch tiếng Anh. Mặt khác, khối kiến thức liên ngành sẽ bổ sung lẫn nhau để sinh viên có được tầm nhìn toàn diện trong lĩnh vực chuyên biệt đã chọn cũng như hữu ích trong công tác sau này.
