Nói đến “bệnh tâm thần” thì thường chúng ta nghĩ ngay đến hình ảnh những người ăn mặc quái dị, có những hành vi không giống ai, đứng la hét ngoài đường … hoặc thông qua phim ảnh, sách báo họ lại hình dung ra những người có tính khí hung dữ bất thường, hành vi ghê gớm không thể đoán trước …Thế thì có phải tất cả những người bệnh tâm thần đều là như thế không? Thật ra những hiện tượng nêu trên chỉ gặp ở một bộ phận rất ít những bệnh nhân bị các loại bệnh tâm thần nặng và không được điều trị kịp thời.
