Cơ quan Khí tượng Nhật Bản đã ngay lập tức ban bố cảnh báo sóng thần đối với tỉnh Fukushima và các khu vực khác.

Theo hãng tin Kyodo, trận động đất xảy ra vào lúc 5 giờ 59 phút theo giờ Nhật Bản.

Cường độ trận động đất đo được tại tỉnh Fukushima và Ibaraki lên tới cấp độ 5 trong thang đo động đất 7 cấp của Nhật Bản.

Tâm chấn nằm sâu khoảng 10km ở khu vực ngoài khơi tỉnh Fukushima, nơi đang có nhà máy điện hạt nhân gặp sự cố sau thảm họa kép động đất sóng thần hồi tháng 3/2011.
