Tôi rất đồng ý với những ý kiến cho rằng không nên quá chú trọng bằng cấp, vì không phản ánh hết năng lực cá nhân. Nhưng chúng tôi, những công dân trẻ mới bước vào đời, hầu như không có sự lựa chọn nào khác ngoài con đường đại học.
Tôi vừa thi đại học năm nay, trong lớp tôi có một bạn quyết định không thi, dù bạn ấy học rất khá, để rẽ sang một hướng đi mới. Và gần như ngay lập tức điều đó trở thành một vấn đề “nóng bỏng” trong lớp tôi! Nói thì rất dễ, nhưng làm sao chúng tôi có đủ bản lĩnh để tự đi theo con đường phù hợp với sức mình khi mà cả xã hội gần như xem bằng cấp là thước đo năng lực không thể thay thế?

Chính từ người lớn với những đòi hỏi con mình phải như thế này thế nọ mà quên nhìn vào khả năng thật sự của con. Nhiều học sinh đã tự lừa dối và giấu cha mẹ các kết quả điểm 8, 9 chỉ vì đã có phụ huynh la mắng, nặng nhẹ với trẻ con vì những thành tích “sa sút” này (!). Xã hội cũng vậy, hầu hết thông báo tuyển dụng nhân sự, điều kiện dự tuyển luôn đòi hỏi “quá hớp”, lại thêm phân biệt chính quy và tại chức (?)...
Mặt khác, việc chuẩn hóa đội ngũ những người đang làm việc là việc làm cần thiết, nhưng giá trị thật của yêu cầu này có đảm bảo không? Có học thật, thi thật, bằng cấp thật? Cần trở lại những nền tảng cốt lõi để xây dựng một định hướng vào đời cho các em. Hãy giới thiệu những gương thành công mà không có bằng đại học. Họ luôn có quyết tâm, ý chí vươn lên mãnh liệt, không nản chí, không đầu hàng với thất bại, tự học hỏi và rèn luyện. Nhưng bao trùm vẫn là cần thay đổi tư duy từ xã hội.

“Đừng quá chú trọng bằng đại học”, ai cũng có thể nói như thế nhưng thực tế thì khác. Chúng ta thử nghĩ xem hầu như tất cả cơ quan đều đưa vấn đề bằng cấp lên hàng đầu, có cơ quan nào cần đến kinh nghiệm làm việc mà không có bằng cấp của chúng ta đâu. Trong nhiều cơ quan, tôi thấy cùng một công việc, thậm chí có người làm việc lâu năm rất tốt nhưng lương thấp hơn rất nhiều chỉ vì bằng cấp. Nhiều người ra trường với tấm bằng đại học nhưng trong công việc thì không biết nhiều, thường xuyên phải hỏi và thậm chí không biết xử lý các tình huống xảy ra trong công việc, phải nhờ đến các công nhân hoặc thợ lành nghề giải quyết.
Thiết nghĩ nếu năng lực thực tế được chú trọng chắc sẽ không còn vấn nạn cố gắng bằng mọi cách để có bằng được tấm bằng đại học trong tay.
