Tháng 9/2007, FPT Telecom và EVN Telecom đã chính thức ký hợp đồng
phát triển mạng và dịch vụ viễn thông. Theo đó, FPT Telecom sẽ thuê thêm kênh
quốc tế của EVN Telecom dung lượng 2,5 GB với tổng trị giá hợp đồng hơn 20 triệu
USD trong vòng 3 năm.
* Mục đích ký kết hợp đồng giữa hai bên: nhằm hướng tới lợi ích của người tiêu
dùng. Đồng thời đây cũng là bước hiện thực hoá Thoả thuận hợp tác chiến lược giữa
hai bên trong các lĩnh vực công nghệ thông tin, mạng và dịch vụ viễn thông, tài
chính, truyền thông…
* Đặc điểm: Thoả thuận này đã nâng cao dung lượng đường truyền Internet quốc tế
của FPT Telecom lên 5 GB, gấp hơn hai lần so với mức năm 2007. Đây là hợp đồng
thuê kênh quốc tế lớn nhất trong lĩnh vực viễn thông ở Việt Nam tại thời điểm ký
kết.
Theo nhận định của hai bên thì với thế mạnh về mạng lưới và cơ sở hạ tầng,
sự hợp tác chiến lược giữa hai doanh nghiệp viễn thông sẽ mang lại những lợi ích

thiết thực cho người tiêu dùng tại Việt Nam. Đồng thời sẽ mở ra nhiều triển vọng
hợp tác chiến lược hơn giữa hai bên trong tương lai.
Trong thoả thuận hợp tác phát triển mạng và dịch vụ viễn thông, FPT
Telecom và EVN Telecom cam kết sử dụng lâu dài hạ tầng kỹ thuật của nhau nhằm
đem lại lợi ích cho cả hai bên.
* Kết quả: EVN Telecom có nhiều thuận lợi hơn trong đàm phán với các đối tác
quốc tế và hướng tới mục tiêu trở thành nhà cung cấp dịch vụ ADSL với chất lượng
hàng đầu.
Ngoài ra, FPT Telecom có thể sử dụng hệ thống cột điện của EVN Telecom
trong cả nước để treo các tuyến cáp quang, cáp viễn thông các loại theo quy định về
kỹ thuật xây dựng và an toàn lưới điện của EVN, các quy định khác của chính quyền
địa phương và đảm bảo mỹ quan đô thị. Các công ty điện lực thuộc EVN sẽ thu hộ
cước các dịch vụ viễn thông do FPT Telecom cung cấp ở địa bàn từng tỉnh, thành
phố,…
