vấn đề độc quyền hiện nay ở Việt Nam chủ yếu là độc quyền nhà nước, các công ty tư nhân chưa có khả năng và tiềm lực kinh tế để chiếm vị trí thống lĩnh hay độc quyền trong các ngành kinh tế chính. Bên cạnh đó, cùng với quá trình mở cửa thị trường thông qua việc ký kết và gia nhập các hiệp định thương mại song phương và đa phương, dẫn đến việc xuất hiện các công ty đa quốc gia hoạt động tại Việt Nam. Những công ty này với sức mạnh kinh tế của mình, có khả năng tạo được vị thế độc quyền, trong bối cảnh đó, các doanh nghiệp nội bộ với tiềm lực hạn chế đang dần bị loại khỏi đời sống kinh tế.
