Với triển vọng của TPP, xuất khẩu hàng dệt may từ Việt Nam sang Mỹ có thể tăng trưởng 13-20% / năm trong giai đoạn 2013-2017. Bên cạnh đó, nếu TPP thúc đẩy đầu tư tốt trong các nguyên liệu như mong đợi, các mục tiêu thặng dư thương mại, giá trị gia tăng và tỷ lệ nội địa hóa của ngành sẽ được tăng cường. Người ta cho rằng ngành công nghiệp sẽ sớm hoàn thành với mục tiêu đạt tỷ lệ nội địa hóa 60% vào năm 2015 và 70% vào năm 2020.
