Việc hút thuốc lá đang trở thành một vấn đè nan giải trong thời gian hiên nay. Thuốc lá có tác hại vô cùng lớn đối với sức khỏe của chúng ta, nhất là khi ta hút thuốc lá nơi công cộng, nó có thể ảnh hưởng tới sức khỏe những người xung quanh. Vì vậy, một số người cho rằng chính phủ nên cấm việc hút thuốc lá nơi công cộng, tôi nghĩ đó cũng là một ý kiến hay, bởi vì:
Hút thuốc lá trước hết gây ảnh hưởng tới sức khỏe của bản thân, bởi vì trong thuốc lá có chứa nhiều chất gây nghiện. Khi hút thuốc, khói thuốc sẽ từ từ ngấm vào trong cơ thể và sẽ hủy hoại cơ thể bạn. Hai là, vì thuốc lá là chất gây nghiện nên trong một ngày bạn có thể hút rất nhiều thuốc lá, do đó Những người hút thuốc sẽ phải chi ra một khoản tiền khá lớn để mua thuốc hút, nó làm ảnh hưởng tới tài chính của bạn trong khi thu nhập của bạn vẫn chưa cao. Ba là, hút thuốc lá nơi công cộng có thể gây hại tới sức khỏe những người xung quanh, đặc biệt là phụ nữ có thai và trẻ em.
Tuy nhiên ta cũng không phủ nhận những lợi ích mà thuốc lá mang lại cho nhà nước. Đó là thuốc lá đem lại nguồn thuế lớn cho nhà nước.
Tôi nghĩ việc cấm hút thuốc lá nơi công cộng nên được thi hành vì nó không những giảm tác hại mà thuốc lá gây ra mà còn giúp chúng ta tiết kiệm được một khoản tiền lớn.
