Với một tốc độ truyền tải như vũ bão, In-tơ-net nói chung, FB nói riêng hàm chứa nhiều thông tin không được kiểm chứng, sai sự thật, thậm chí độc hại. Vì thế, nó cực kì nguy hiểm, có thể gây ảnh hưởng xấu đến chính trị, kinh tế, đạo đức,… và nhiều mặt của đời sống, có thể gây nguy hại cho quốc gia, tập thể hay các cá nhân. Do được sáng tạo trong một môi trường ảo, thậm chí nặc danh nên nhiều “ngôn ngữ mạng” trở nên vô trách nhiệm, vô lương tâm và vô văn hoá. Có những kẻ đã lợi dụng FB để bôi xấu chế độ, lãnh tụ, bôi nhọ, xúc phạm người khác. Có những kẻ đưa lên đó những nội dung không lành mạnh, không phù hợp với đạo đức, thuần phong mĩ tục của người Việt.
