Người lao động có quyền làm việc trong một môi trường an toàn và vệ sinh, họ có quyền được bảo vệ tránh mọi nguy hiểm, có quyền được biết và được từ chối các công việc nguy hiểm. Nếu chủ doanh nghiệp không cung cấp đầy đủ các trang thiết bị an toàn cho người lao động, không thường xuyên kiểm tra xem chúng có an toàn không, không đảm bảo các tiêu chuẩn cho phép về môi trường làm việc (tiếng ồn, độ ẩm, bụi, ánh sáng, không khí, chất độc hại...) dẫn đến người lao động gặp tai nạn, bị chết, bị thương tật... thì hành vi của người chủ ở đây là vô đạo đức.
