Phu Quoc island lies in the Gulf of Thailand, West of Vietnam. The waters of the Phu Quoc has 22 large and small islands, of which the largest Phu Quoc island covers an area of 567 km ² (56,700 hectares), 49 km long natural sloping terrain runs from North to South with 99 mountain hills. However, the small island cluster of Harbor An Thới separated permanently from the southern tip of Phu Quoc island by a strait has the depth to more than 60 m.
