Vai trò đó, đóng góp một phần rất lớn và quan trọng trong quá trình học tập, nghiên cứu của sinh viên nói chung và sinh viên khoa ngoại ngữ nói riêng.Trong khuôn khổ bài nghiên cứu khoa học của sinh viên, đềtài đã tiến hành đánh giá thực trạng nhu cầu sửdụng Thƣ viên của sinh viên với sự tham gia trả lời phiếu hỏi của 160 sinh viên tại khóa 2, 3, 4, khảo sát đƣợc tiến hành vào đầu tháng 12 năm 2017. Các công cụ nghiên cứu lựa chọn là điều tra phiếu hỏi, khảo sát thực địa và phỏng vấn sâu nhân viên thư viện và sinh viên. Qua đó, nhóm đƣa ra một số đề xuất về giải pháp cho những tồn tại bất cập của Thƣ viện đại học DaLat và đề ra mục tiêu chung trong giải pháp để phát triển trọn vẹn vai trò quan trọng của nó.Công trình nghiên cứu này vẫn còn nhiều hạn chế đối tƣợng nghiên cứu chỉ là nhu cầu của sinh viên (còn nhu cầu của cán bộ, giảng viên tại Học viện) và phạm vi chỉ nghiên cứu sinh viên khóa 2, 3, 4 (thiếu một lƣợng sinh viên khóa 1 chƣa ra trƣờng, do thời gian này các bạn đi thực tập nên khó có thể lấy đƣợc ý kiến điều tra).
