Ngày nay, mặc dù phương tiện công cộng ngày càng hiện đại và thuận tiện để di chuyển, chúng vẫn có nhiều vấn đề mà chúng ta không mong muốn. Đầu tiên, phương tiện công cộng không đáng tin cậy cho lắm. Chúng ta có thể bị trễ giờ làm việc nếu xe buýt hay tàu điện ngầm đến bến trễ, bị hỏng hóc hay phải đón khách liên tục trong thời gian dài. Thêm nữa, chúng ta không thể mong đợi chúng chờ đợi chúng ta dù chỉ là một phút. Chúng sẽ di chuyển tiếp nếu chúng ta đến trễ vì thế chúng ta phải đợi những chuyến sau. Chính vì vậy, chúng ta phải ngồi ở bến đúng giờ và luôn phải chấp nhận việc đến trễ của phương tiện giao thông. Một số người cảm thấy khó chịu về điều này.
