Các khối núi đá vôi có vách dựng đứng được bao bọc bởi đầm nước là địa hình lý tưởng bảo đảm an toàn cho sự sống sót của loài Voọc này.. Tuy vậy, việc nghiên cứu để bảo tồn loài voọc quý hiếm này vẫn được đặt ra cấp bách bởi có rất nhiều mối đe dọa đối với sự sống sót của Voọc quần đùi trắng. Cho tới nay đã có một số khảo sát về phân bố và tình rạng của loài này trong tự nhiên, và một số nghiên cứu về thức ăn và tập tính của Voọc trong điều kiện nuôi nhốt. Để có thêm nhiều thông tin cho công cuộc bảo tồn Voọc quần đùi trắng, chúng tôi tiến hành đề tài luận án: “Nghiên cứu đặc điểm sinh học, sinh thái Voọc quần đùi trắng Trachypithecus delacouri (Osgood,
1932) ở Khu bảo tồn thiên nhiên Vân Long và đề xuất một số giải pháp bảo tồn”.
