Ngành Dệt-May Việt Nam bước vào thời kỳ đổi mới, ngành công nghiệp dệt-may Việt Nam đứng trước những thời cơ và thách thức. Từ nền kinh tế bao cấp chuyển sang nền kinh tế thị trường ngành gặp không ít khó khăn. Để khắc phục tình trạng đó, ngành dệt-may đã bám sát thị trường xuất khẩu và thị trường nội địa, tập trung chỉ đạo đầu tư đổi mới thiết bị, tăng cường sử dụng các loại công nghệ hiện đại, công nghệ thích ứng, đa dạng nguồn vốn đâu tư, huy động mọi thành phần kinh tế, đẩy mạnh hợp tác liên doanh với nước ngoài.

From subsidized economy shifting to the market economy the industry experiencing difficulties. To remedy that situation, textile-garment has to keep abreast of export markets and the domestic market focus, investment in equipment innovation, enhance the use of modern technology, technology adaptation, where capital investment diversity, all economic sectors, to promote cooperation with foreign countries.
