Chiến tranh qua đi và để lại nhiều hậu quả nặng nề đối với Củ Chi, những tàn tích, mất mát đau thương và tình trạng đói nghèo " Vùng đất trắng" xưa kia nay đang được hồi sinh và từng ngày đổi mới. Củ Chi đã đươc nhiều tổ chức trong và quốc tế giúp đỡ để xây dựng kinh tế, khắc phục hậu quả sau chiến tranh. Những công trình phục vụ đời sống dân sinh đang mọc lên, khỏa lấp dần những vết thương chiến tranh.

Trong 6 tháng đầu năm nay, thành phố Hồ Chí Minh đã tạo được 85230 việc làm đạt 47% chỉ tiêu hằng năm.
Chương trình cho vay vốn từ quỹ xúc tiến việc làm quốc gia đã tạo được 4200 việc làm.
Tám trung tâm xúc tiến việc làm đã tìm được việc cho 19300 lao động và đào tạo thêm 13000 người khác để có việc làm. Bộ phận quản lý lao động của thành phố báo cáo rằng tỉ lệ thất nghiệp ở khu vực nội thị thành phố là 6,1%, giảm 0,24% so với năm trước
