Tổng Công ty Sông Thu trực thuộc Tổng cục Công nghiệp Quốc phòng - Bộ Quốc phòng nước Cộng hoà Xã hội Chủ nghĩa Việt Nam, được thành lập ngày 10/10/1976, trụ sở đăng ký tại số 96 Yết Kiêu, phường Thọ Quang, quận Sơn Tra, thành phố Đà Nẵng, Việt Nam.

Công ty Sông Thu hoạt động sản xuất kinh doanh trong các lĩnh vực chính như sau:

Đóng mới và sửa chữa tàu biển, tàu sông vỏ sắt, nhôm, gỗ, vật liệu phi kim loại;
Ứng phó sự cố tràn dầu trên biển, sông;
Vệ sinh làm sạch tàu dầu, xử lý cặn dầu;
Sản xuất các sản phẩm bằng kim loại, gia công cơ khí và dịch vụ kỹ thuật; v.v...
Với 40 năm kinh nghiệm cùng với lực lượng cán bộ, công nhân viên có trình độ chuyên môn, nghiệp vụ và tay nghề cao, công ty Sông Thu đã và đang phát triển từng ngày một cách bền vững. Điều này được minh chứng qua các dòng sản phẩm được xuất xưởng và doanh thu tăng dần qua các năm.

Tổng Công ty không những đảm nhiệm sản xuất kinh doanh các sản phẩm quốc phòng, các loại tàu kéo, tàu cứu hộ, cứu nạn, tàu tuần tiểu, tàu khảo sát đo đạc biển, tàu ứng phó sự cố tràn dầu, v.v... mà còn ký kết hợp tác với các nước trên thế giới để sản xuất xuất khẩu. Trong những năm trở lại đây, Công ty đã đóng và xuất sang thị trường Châu Âu hai loạt tàu kéo – ASD, tàu cung ứng thuyền viên nhanh phục vụ giàn khoan – FCS, tàu tuần tra cao tuôc SPa, tàu công trình TSHD2000... .
