Vậy kế toán là gì? Đó là công việc ghi chép, thu nhận, xử lý và cung cấp các thông tin về tình hình hoạt động kinh tế tài chính của một tổ chức, doanh nghiệp, cơ quan,… Nói chuyên sâu hơn, kế toán là ngành thực hiện quá trình thu nhận, xử lý và cung cấp thông tin về toàn bộ tài sản, nguồn hình thành tài sản và sự vận động tài sản trong doanh nghiệp, tổ chức, từ đó cung cấp thông tin tài chính hữu ích cho việc đưa ra những quyết định về kinh tế - xã hội và đánh giá hiệu quả các hoạt động trong doanh nghiệp.
