Giới thiệu chung về trường đại học Bách Khoa – Đại học quốc gia Tp.HCM
Trường đại học Bách Khoa – Đại học quốc gia Tp.HCM (ĐHQG HCM) có cơ sở chính rộng 14.5 ha nằm tại nội thành Tp.HCM – thuộc phường 14 Quận 10, trên giao lộ giữa đường Lý Thường Kiệt và đường Tô Hiến Thành . Cơ sở thứ 2 của trường rộng 26 ha thuộc địa phận quận Thủ Đức và huyện Dĩ An tỉnh Bình Dương cách 25km về phia đông cơ sở chính.
Từ ngày thành lập năm 1957 tới trước năm 1975, Trường là cơ sở duy nhất tại miền Nam đào tạo kỹ sư và cán bộ kỹ thuật . Trường Trường đại học Bách Khoa – Đại học quốc gia Tp.HCM (ĐHQG HCM) là một trong những trung tâm đào tạo, nghiên cứu khoa học – chuyển giao công nghệ hàng đầu tại Việt Nam. Trường cung cấp nguồn nhân lực chất lượng cao, bồi dưỡng nhân tài, phục vụ đắc lực sự nghiệp công nghiệp hóa, hiện đại hóa cho phía nam và cả nước, vươn tới trình độ khu vực Đông Nam Á và thế giới .
Cuộc thi Robocon (Robot & Contest) do hiệp hội các nước trong khu vực Châu Á - Thái Bình Dương và hiệp hội phát thanh truyền hình Châu Á – Thái Bình Dương (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union) tổ chức thường niên dành cho các trường đại học và cao đẳng . Cùng với tinh thần cầu tiến và sự đam mê kỹ thuật và tinh thần cầu tiến , Trường đại học Bách Khoa – Đại học quốc gia Tp.HCM (ĐHQG HCM) là một trong những trường tiên phong sánh vai cùng với các nước có trình độ phát triển cao và cũng là trường từng đạt những thành tích cao nhất trong các kì thi trong và ngoài nước . Với 3 lần liên tiếp vô địch cuộc thi sáng tạo Robot Châu Á - Thái Bình Dương : năm 2002 (ABU Tokyo) , năm 2004 (ABU Seoul) , năm 2006 (ABU BangKok) Trường đại học Bách Khoa – Đại học quốc gia Tp.HCM (ĐHQG HCM) đã được nhiều sự quan tâm thu hút của nhiều các bạn trẻ có cùng niềm đan mê.
