EU là một đối tác phát triển quan trọng của ASEAN và là nhà tài trợ lớn nhất cho Ban Thư ký ASEAN. Trong chu kỳ ngân sách hiện tại (2014-2020), EU sẽ hỗ trợ hội nhập ASEAN và Ban Thư ký với 170 triệu EUR, tăng hơn gấp đôi số tiền theo chu kỳ trước đó (gần 70 triệu EUR, 2007-2013).

In the current budget cycle (2014-2020), the EU will support the ASEAN integration and the Secretariat with 170 million EUR, more than double the amount of the previous cycle (nearly 70 million EUR, 2007-2013).
