Polydimethyl siloxane ( PDMS ) thuộc nhóm các hợp chất polymer hữu cơ gốc silicon được tạo thành từ các đơn vị lặp lại của siloxan, gồm một nhóm chức của hai nguyên tử silic và một nguyên tử oxi kết hợp với các nhóm alkyl CH3. Công thức chung của PDMS là CH3[Si(CH3)2O]nSi(CH3)3 trong đó n là số đơn vị lặp lại của nhóm silanol [SiO(CH3)2]
