CAE là phương thức thực nghiệm,
tính toán, mô phỏng, để tìm giải pháp thiết kế
tối ưu nhất, giá rẻ nhất, thời gian nhanh nhất
trên máy tính dựa trên thuật toán FEM(Finite Element Method) vv….
1. Finite: có nghĩa là hữu hạn (Khác với việc bạn giải theo phương pháp giải tích, số phần tử được coi là vô hạn và kết quả là chính xác tuyệt đối 100%)2. Element: Sử dụng phép nội suy (interpolate) để tìm ra kết quả (ứng suất, chuyển vị,...) tại các nút (Node)3. Method => FEM sử dụng phương pháp số và xấp xỉ để tìm ra kết quả gần đúng.(Numerical + approximate)
Trong trường đại học thì người ta hay dùng từ "FEM" còn trong công nghiệp, các phòng CAE R &D của các công ty thì dùng từ "FEA".
