Công tác xóa đói giảm nghèo ở Việt Nam đã đạt được những thành tựu vô cùng to lớn. Trong vòng hai mươi năm qua số người nghèo đã giảm từ gần 60% xuống còn 20.7% dân số.
Tuy nhiên sự bất ổn của kinh tế vĩ mô, những tác động từ bên ngoài, những bất bình đẳng trong tăng trưởng đã làm nảy sinh nhiều thách thức mới. Điều cần thiết phải làm sao cho nhiều người được hưởng lợi từ tăng trưởng kinh tế, bằng cách đầu tư nhiều hơn cho các vùng nông thôn, các doanh nghiệp vừa và nhỏ.

The work of poverty alleviation in Vietnam has reached gigantic achievements. Within the last twenty years the number of poor people has declined from nearly 60% to 20.7% of the population. However, the instability of the macro economy, the impact from the outside, the inequality in growth has raised many new challenges. The necessary thing to do for many people benefit from economic growth, by investing more for rural areas, small and medium enterprises.

However, the instability of the macro-economy, the impact from the outside, the inequalities in growth has fueled birth of new challenges. It is necessary to do so for many people to benefit from economic growth, by investing more for the rural areas, small and medium enterprises.
