Năm 2009 ghi nhận 295 vụ với trị giá 1,14 tỷ USD, năm 2010 có 245 vụ tổng giá trị 1,75 tỷ USD và năm 2011 ghi nhận 266 vụ với giá trị 6,25 tỷ USD, con số này tăng lên 308 vào năm 2012 và 120 giao dịch được thực hiện trong nửa đầu năm 2013.Vào tháng 10/2015 thông tin nhà nước thoái vốn tại Vinamilk với 45% cổ phần trị giá lên đến gần 3 tỷ USD đã khiến nhiều nhà đầu tư nước ngoài lộ diện tham vọng mua lại công ty có niêm yết lớn nhất thị trường Việt Nam. Hoạt động Merger & Acquisition năm 2016 tại Việt Nam sẽ khá sôi nổi.
