Cây cầu với giá trị 2,5 tỉ đồng bắc qua kênh 28 ở xã Vĩnh Bình, Long An đã đổ sập ngày 27-5-2015 sau 14 ngày cầu đưa vào sử dụng để thay thế phà. Ngày hôm trước, vết nứt bắt đầu xuất hiện ở mố cầu. Cầu sập là do mố cầu trượt khỏi vị trí của nó. Cầu dành cho xe máy và người đi bộ được Ủy Ban Nhân Dân Vĩnh Bình đầu tư cùng với người dân địa phương đóng góp 500 triệu đồng.
Cơ quan thẩm quyền đang điều tra sự cố.
