Sự phân tầng này thể hiện rõ ở khu tẩm điện với lối kiến trúc “Trùng Thiềm Điệp Ốc” (Nhà có nhiều bộ mái nối tiếp nhau). Chính điện và các nhà cửa phụ vẫn còn những hàng cột sơn son thếp vàng lộng lẫy với trang trí tứ linh, tứ quý,... Điều đáng chú ý tại lăng tẩm này là điện Ngưng Hy. Đây được coi là nơi bảo lưu bật nhất nghệ thuật sơn mài nổi tiếng của Viêt Nam kết hợp hài hòa cùng hệ thống cửa kính nhiều màu. Kiến trúc lăng mộ hầu như Âu hoá hoàn toàn, từ đặc trưng kiến trúc, mô típ trang trí đến vật kiệu xây dựng nhưng vẫn hoà hợp với phong cảnh thôn dã trong vùng.
