Nội dung phim X nói về một cô con dâu Việt Kiều về nước do Lê Khánh thủ vai và chồng của mình do Lê Bình đóng, mục đích hai vợ chồng về Việt Nam là để thăm cha mẹ chồng. Sợ con cái mình không thích ứng được với cuộc sống nghèo nên hai người cha mẹ phải dàn dựng và thuê căn nhà cao cấp để hai người con sống trong cảnh tiện nghi. Kết cục phim là mọi chuyện bị lộ và hai người con nhận ra tình cảm thật sự và sự hi sinh chân thành của cha mẹ.
