Tại ÐHQG Hà Nội, một dề tài cấp nhà nuớc dã duợc thực hiện từ nam 1998 dếnnam 2002 mang tên “Xây dựng bộ tiêu chí dánh giá chất luợng dào tạo dùngcho các truờng dại học và cao dẳng Việt Nam” do GS.TS Nguyễn ÐứcChính, nguyên Phó Giám dốc ÐHQG Hà Nội làm chủ nhiệm dề tài. Ðề tài này dã có vai trò lớn trong việc nâng cao ý thức về vai trò quan trọng củahoạt dộng dánh giá trong hệ thống GD ÐH, dồng thời dã phác họa duợc những nét lớn của một bộ tiêu chuẩn dánh giá chất luợng truờng dại học mà Bộ Giáo dục và Ðào tạo ban hành sau dó.
