Cột 1 liệt kê các yếu tố môi trường

Cột 1 liệt kê các yếu tố môi trường kinh doanh quan trọng nhất và các thành tố của chúng, ví dụ các yếu tố môi trường kinh doanh quốc tế, đối thủ cạnh tranh, marketing, giá bán, quảng cáo.
Cột 2: Dùng để phân loại các yếu tố môi trường theo mức độ quan trọng tổng thể của chúng đối với ngành như giá, tỷ giá hối đoái, lãi suất ngân hàng.
Cột 3: Dùng để chỉ tác động của yếu tố tạo ra cơ hội và thế mạnh của công ty được đánh dấu (+) , còn yếu tố mang tính nguy cơ và thế yếu được đánh dấu (-).
Cột 5: là hệ số điều chỉnh cho mỗi yếu tố, lấy giá trị tầm quan trọng của mỗi yếu tố đối với ngành (cột 2) nhân với mức độ ảnh hưởng của nó đối với công ty (cột 3) và lấy dấu (+) hoặc dấu (-) ở cột 4 gắn với kết quả tính được.
