Rapa Nui National Park is a national park located on Easter Island, Chile. Polynesian name Rapa Nui language of Easter Island; Spanish name is Isla de Pascua it. Easter Island is located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeastern extreme of the Polynesian Triangle. The island started under the management of the Chilean government since 1888. Thanks to the 887 known stone statues called "moai", the island has become famous and become a World Heritage Site. The statue is the work of the ancient Rapa Nui people already living in the island from about 300 years Rapa Nui National Park occupies a large area of the island. March 22, 1996, UNESCO recognized this place as a world heritage site. It is under the administrative control of the Corporation, the National Forestry (CONAF), the unit responsible for legal protection for the entire island.
