Thái Lan đã ban hành lệnh cấm hút thuốc lá tại các quán bar, văn phòng có điều hòa và chợ ngoài trời,đồng thời gia nhập hàng ngũ tuyên chiến với thuốc lá cùng các nước phát triển. Những người hút thuốc lá sẽ phải chịu phạt 2000 bạt (6000USD), và chủ quán không thực hiện việc nghiêm cấm sẽ chịu phạt 20000 bạt sau khi lệnh cấm có hiệu lực.
