Bỏ potting soil hoặc seed starting blend vào chậu sau đó thêm đủ nước vào đó để làm ẩm đất nhưng không được làm cho nó trở nên lõng bõng. Công thức cơ bản như sau 1/4 cốc nước cho mỗi chậu nhỏ là đủ. Tuy nhiên tùy thuộc vào loại hạt giống và potting soil mà bạn chọn, bạn có thể thêm nước nếu nó còn quá khô. Đừng quên sử dụng 1 cái fork để khuấy đất và nước lên.
