Success is based on many factors including luck, hard work, talent, skills and so on. Obviously, people around the world have been succeeding in every possible way. It is a belief that the key of a successful life is hard work and luck has nothing to do with success while in the other hand, many people argue that it is not true because of psychological reason and trust in lucky life. Firstly, most successful men and women do not believe in luck because they believe more in themselves, especially in hard working. According to this, diligence is one of the best ways to be successful. Thomas Alva Edison said: "Success is 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent perspiration”.It means that 10 percent talent and 90 percent hard work is the formula of success for everyone. It cannot be denied that the one who succeeds often emphasizes the power of conscientiousness to encourage others in achieving goals. However, there are some arguments that hard work is not the key of success because some successful people are likely illusion of control. Both men and women like to feel they are in control of their lives and what they do is matter more than luck or chance. Though a number of ingenious experiments, Psychologists in University of Chicago have shown that in situations where both diligence and luck play a role, 70% successful people have a tendency to overestimate the importance of their diligence. It proves that sometimes hard work is overvalued in order to underestimate the role of luck in successful life. Additionally, it is truth that there are many people who got success just of sheer luck. No one gets to choose how to start out life but having supportive parents and a good education make a huge difference to children born and raised in under-developed countries where are not enough food and clean water, even do not have opportunities to achieve the dream. A research byeconomist Tom Hertz demonstrates how rare it is for those born poor to go from “rags to riches,”with only 1.3% of those born into the poorest manageto “struggle upward” into thewealth, while nearly two third of those born into the top wealthiest are able to hold on to their class position. It strongly convinces that
success in this world isn’t entirely a matter of hard w

merit, but that the mysterious force known as “luck” plays an enormous part.
In conclusion, some successful people said that hard work is the key in achieving their goals then were not aware how they are lucky with good backgrounds and golden opportunities. Therefore,
success is not only based on diligence or skills, but it also depends on one’s talent and social
position. In my opinion, luck means a chance happening of fortunate events and hard work is the
