Tổng Công ty Sông Thu trực thuộc Tổng cục Công nghiệp Quốc phòng - Bộ Quốc phòng nước Cộng hoà Xã hội Chủ nghĩa Việt Nam, được thành lập ngày 10/10/1976, trụ sở đăng ký tại số 96 Yết Kiêu, phường Thọ Quang, quận Sơn Tra, thành phố Đà Nẵng, Việt Nam.

Công ty Sông Thu hoạt động sản xuất kinh doanh trong các lĩnh vực chính như sau:

Đóng mới và sửa chữa tàu biển, tàu sông vỏ sắt, nhôm, gỗ, vật liệu phi kim loại;
Ứng phó sự cố tràn dầu trên biển, sông;
Vệ sinh làm sạch tàu dầu, xử lý cặn dầu;
Sản xuất các sản phẩm bằng kim loại, gia công cơ khí và dịch vụ kỹ thuật; v.v...

TỔNG CÔNG TY SÔNG THU - HÀNH TRÌNH 40 NĂM

Công ty Sông Thu tiền thân là Tổ hợp tác xã Cơ khí Đồng Tiến được thành lập ngày 10/10/1976 theo Quyết định của Bộ Tư lệnh Quân khu V nhằm sửa chữa phương tiện thuỷ phục vụ nhiệm vụ vận tải của Cục Hậu cần Quân khu V.

Trải qua 40 năm xây dựng và phát triển, Công ty đã không ngừng lớn mạnh và đánh dấu những cột mốc quan trọng.

Từ năm 1982, Công ty là Xí nghiệp sửa chữa tàu biển trực thuộc Cục Kỹ thuật Quân khu V và đến năm 1985, Công ty trực thuộc Tư lệnh Quân khu V.

Theo quyết định số 483/QĐQP ngày 4/8/1993 của Bộ trưởng Bộ Quốc phòng, Công ty Sông Thu được thành lập lại là doanh nghiệp Nhà nước trực thuộc Bộ Quốc phòng.

Công ty chính thức được đổi tên thành Công ty Sông Thu từ Xí nghiệp sửa chữa tàu biển và được bổ sung ngành nghề theo quyết định số 484/QĐQP ngày 18/4/1996 của Bộ trưởng Bộ Quốc phòng.

Năm 1998, Công ty sáp nhập thêm đơn vị vận tải 234 của Cục Hậu cần Quân khu V.

Từ khi thành lập đến trước năm 2003, nhiệm vụ chủ yếu của Công ty là sửa chữa các phương tiện thuỷ phục vụ nhiệm vụ vận tải của Quân khu và sửa chữa một số phương tiện thuỷ tại các địa phương.
