Quỹ NS-VSMT vừa ra mắt với khẩu hiệ

Quỹ NS-VSMT vừa ra mắt với khẩu hiệu ''Cùng bắt tay hành động vì môi trường'', chủ trương kết nối nguồn lực khoa học- công nghệ và vốn để thực hiện các dự án xã hội hóa.

Đại diện Quỹ NS-VSMT dẩn số liệu từ Ngân hàng thế giới cho biết, mới đây, ở Đông Nam Á có đến 500.000 người chết mỗi năm do nguồn nước bị ô nhiễm. Còn tại Việt Nam, những năm gần đây có khoảng 6 triệu trường hợp các bệnh truyền qua nước được phát hiện, thiệt hại tài chính lên tới 400 tỷ đồng.

Con số trên cho thấy, cung cấp nước sạch trở thành một trong những yếu tố quan trọng nhất trong quá trình phát triển bền vững. Ông Phạm Song, Chủ tịch Hội NS-VSMT VN nhấn mạnh, nước không phải là tài nguyên vô tận nên việc gìn giữ bảo vệ nguồn nước cần phải có sự tham gia của toàn dân. Đồng thời, đưa nước sạch đến với người nghèo cũng là một trong những việc làm cấp thiết trong lúc này...

Đây cũng là một trong những tiêu chí và mục đích hoạt động của Quỹ NS-VSMT VN, trực thuộc Hội NS-VSMT VN.

Theo Ban lãnh đạo Quỹ, hoạt động của Quỹ không tạo lợi nhuận, không đầu tư tài chính mà tập hợp nguồn tri thức, công nghệ và tài chính để triển khai các sáng kiến, dự án, chương trình nghiên cứu, vận động chính sách, truyền thông, điều tra, đánh giá, ứng dụng, triển khai công nghệ trong lĩnh vực nước sạch và vệ sinh môi trường.
